Our beginnings...

One of the members of the American Advertising Federation of Tuscaloosa (AAFT) was driving around town while listening to the radio and hearing how coronavirus infections were on the rise in Tuscaloosa. He noticed that there was very little positive messaging around wearing a mask but lots of doctors were saying it was the best way to slow the spread. So he contacted the AAFT Board of Directors and asked them to consider taking on this important campaign as a public service project. Eight other members immediately volunteered to help with the campaign, lots of media partners jumped in, photographers said, “Yes!,” and a campaign was born!

Masks for Tuscaloosa is all about encouraging every member of the larger Tuscaloosa community to wear their masks when they are in public or around people who do not reside in their home. Because coronavirus is invisible and the symptoms are sometimes invisible, too, no one can be sure whether or not they have it and are posing a danger to others. The best way to protect our community is for ALL of us to wear our masks.

We ALL have someone in our lives that needs our protection. Let’s show that Tuscaloosa spirit by pulling together, wearing our masks, and protecting every person in T-town. Why do we do it?

For you. For me. For Tuscaloosa.
