For De'Aysia Taylor and her son, Carter, the YMCA Summer Camp has become exactly that: a place to belong.
This summer, the YMCA launched Camp Elevate in partnership with New Heights Community Resource Center. This is a camp experience designed for children with low support needs. With smaller groups, a less overwhelming environment, and trained instructors, Camp Elevate creates a space where children can thrive.
No matter your background, your story, or your ability to pay, there is a place for you here.

Staff Spotlight ✨
Our next spotlight for this month is Henry. Henry is pretty new to the Downtown team, but he has been a YMCA employee since he was in high school in Birmingham. He loves the community, family oriented nature, and Christian values we have at the Y.
He is currently studying business at the University of Alabama and hopes to continue his career at the Y after graduation.
