We seek to provide a warm & inviting atmosphere by opening our doors 7 days a week to welcome & feed the hungry of Tuscaloosa. Matthew 25:35,40

Founded in 1983, the Community Soup Bowl began with a simple vision — to help feed the community’s hungry — cooking soup in the kitchens of some of Tuscaloosa’s downtown churches. Three decades later, the Community Soup Bowl continues to serve hundreds of hot meals every day, with the help of the five founding downtown churches: First Baptist, First African Baptist, First United Methodist, First P

Every weekday morning, our doors open.

For over 40 years, this community has decided that no neighbor in Tuscaloosa should go without a hot meal.

We don't ask why someone walks through our door. We don't ask them to prove anything or explain anything. We just serve a warm meal at a welcoming table with the dignity every person deserves.

That's been our promise since 1983.

If you want to be part of it, we'd love to have you. Donate, volunteer, or simply share this post. Every bit of support keeps those doors open: https://www.thecommunitysummit.org/

In observance of Memorial Day, The Community Soup Bowl will be closed today. We are grateful for their sacrifice and wish our community a meaningful Memorial Day.

We want to tell you something about $3.

$3 is a hot meal. Cooked fresh, served warm, eaten with dignity. No judgment. Just food for whoever walks through our doors.

$12 feeds four neighbors this week. $30 feeds ten. $100 puts more than 33 hot meals on the table right here in Tuscaloosa.

The need hasn’t slowed down. If anything, it’s grown. But so has this community’s willingness to show up.

Will you show up today? Even $3 makes a difference.

Right now, every new monthly gift through GiveButter comes with a bonus: an extra $10 added on top. That means your first gift goes even further for a neighbor who walks through our doors today, tomorrow, and every month after that. No questions asked. Just open doors and warm food.

Two days left in Monthly Giving Week!

The need in Tuscaloosa is real. Demand for meals is up. And every weekday, we open our doors because that's what we've done for over 30 years.

A monthly gift doesn't just help us serve today. It helps us plan, prepare, and show up tomorrow. And this week, every new monthly donor earns us a $10 bonus through GiveButter.

If you've been thinking about it, now is the time: https://givebutter.com/monthly-giving-week-CSB

We’re turning the page on a new chapter for Community Soup Bowl. 🤍

Over the past 40+ years, this organization has been a place of nourishment, dignity, and community for our neighbors in Tuscaloosa. As we continue growing to meet increasing needs, we knew it was time for a refreshed look that better reflects who we are today and where we’re headed.

Today, we’re excited to introduce our new logo and updated branding.

While our look may be evolving, our mission remains the same:
To provide a warm, inviting atmosphere by opening our doors to welcome and feed the hungry.

This refresh is about more than a logo. It’s about building a stronger foundation for the future - one that helps us better connect with volunteers, donors, partners, and every neighbor who walks through our doors.

We’re grateful to everyone who continues to support Community Soup Bowl and be part of this next chapter with us. 🤍
