Tybee Lighthouse Open every day but Tuesday 9am to 4:30pm. $14 adults, $12 children 6-17, seniors, & military. Open every day, except Tuesday, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Closed St.

Patrick's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times while visiting our sites. Parking is included in the light station lot when purchasing tickets. We request that if you plan to visit the beach or the Tybee Island Marine Science Center that you move your vehicle to the city parking lot across the street.

You listened in and learned about Tybee's Irish Heritage parade last week. Did you know Tybee’s Irish and Catholic history spans well over a century?

Several women served as federally employed lighthouse keepers on or near Tybee. At least three were Catholic. Two were Irish, and one was a free woman of color.

Their stories offer a way to see Tybee’s history through the women who kept its lights.

Two of our Tybee Police Officers, Officer Vaughan and Officer Goatley climbed the lighthouse steps 12 times today in memory of all the first responders who climbed the twin towers 25 years ago today.

Tomorrow morning at 8:46 AM, the moment the first tower was hit, the Tybee Island Lighthouse will have a bagpipe player play for our 9/11, 25th Remembrance Event. The best place to experience it will be outside the fence by 30 Meddin Drive. The site will remain closed until 9:00 AM. Rain or Shine.
