'Tis the season to get spooky! Come learn how to make Pocket Monsters with us. Sign up for our Makerspace event on Friday, October 16th from 3-5 PM. With some scrap fabric, thread, and a few abandoned buttons, you can create your own Halloween creature. They're so cute you'll scream!

This program is for ages 12+. All materials are provided, or feel free to bring your favorite fabric or decor. To register, please message us here, email [email protected], or call (707) 463-4490.

Since 1982, Banned Books Week has enlightened the public about attempts to censor books in libraries, schools, and bookstores. This year’s theme is “Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read.”

The American Library Association documented 487 attempts to censor books at libraries, schools, and universities in 2025. The reasons most commonly cited for censorship were false claims of illegal obscenity for minors; inclusion of LGBTQIA+ representation; covering topics of race, racism, social justice, and diversity; and presenting political or religious views with which the challengers disagreed.
