We’re Hiring: Senior Public Health Nurse

Mendocino County Health Services Public Health is seeking a Senior Public Health Nurse to provide oversight to the Health Care Program for Children in Foster Care (HCPCFC) unit.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.

✅Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited four-year college or university; and one (1) year experience equivalent to that of a Public Health Nurse with Mendocino County; or three (3) years of professional level nursing experience with at least one (1) year in a public agency; or, when possessing required license and certification, a combination of related education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

✅Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Driver's License
Valid California Registered Nurse
Valid California Public Health Nurse
Current Basic Life Support Course Completion Card issued by the American Heart Association, or equivalent

We’re Hiring: Integrated Services Coordinator II
📍 Locations: Ukiah, CA

This position closes on November 4.

Mendocino County Health Services Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is seeking an Integrated Services Coordinator II. The Integrated Services Coordinator II will be required to complete CDPH/WIC Nutrition Assistant certification in order to provide nutrition counseling on a day-to-day basis. This position will also provide customer service, support and resources to clients, and determining family's eligibility for the WIC program.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.

✅Requirements:
An associate’s degree related to health or human services, child development, social or behavioral sciences or a related field

AND

One (1) year performing related functions in community services, client advocacy, outreach work, eligibility assessment, and /or front office duties in a health care setting.

OR

One (1) year of successful full-time experience as an Integrated Services Coordinator I with Mendocino County.

✅Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Driver’s License
Successful completion of WIC Nutrition Assistant (WNA) or Certified Lactation Counselor certifications within one (1) year of appointment.

We’re hiring: Environmental Health Specialist I or II

Mendocino County Health Services, Public Health Environmental Health is seeking a Environmental Health Specialist I or II. This position supports the consumer protection program conducting food, pool, and body art inspections. They meet with and advise the general public, designers, and facility operators. Complaint investigations, enforcement activities, and report writing are assigned daily. This position reviews applications and issues permits to operate for food, pool, body art, campgrounds, and state small water system facilities.

✅Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, including 30 semester units of basic sciences, or equivalent from a four-year college in Biology, Environmental Health, or related field; and

One (1) year of progressively responsible related experience; or, when possessing California Registered Health Specialist or.

A combination of higher education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

✅Licenses and Certifications:
Valid certificate of registration as an Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) in the State of California
Valid driver's license

This position performs a variety of difficult technical functions associated with hazardous material incidents/complaints and environmental issues including assessing and mitigating unsafe situations; taking action at incident scenes; investigating environmental crimes; and coordinating training.

✅Requirements:
Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Fire Science, Hazardous Materials Technology, or related field; and, three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in solid, liquid, or hazardous waste management, environmental health inspections, and industrial hygiene practices; or , in conjunction with required certification, an equivalent combination of directly related education, training, experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Hazardous Materials Technician (CA- OES approved)
