🚨 Kansas Property Tax Update for 2026 🚨

Starting January 1, 2026, Kansas law exempts several categories of tangible personal property from all property and ad valorem taxes.

Newly exempt Personal Property include:

Watercraft and marine equipment- includes all watercraft, boat trailers, and boat motors.

Off Road Vehicles- includes all terrain vehicles (ATVs), recreational off highway vehicles, motorized manufactured for off road use, snowmobiles, and golf carts (not operated on highways).

Motorized bicycles and scooters- includes motorized bicycles, electric assisted bicycles, electric assisted scooters, electric personal assisting mobility devices, and motorized wheelchairs.

Personal Trailers- trailers with a gross weight of 15,000 pounds or less used exclusively for personal purposes (not for income production).

⚠️ Still Taxable in 2026
• Mobile homes and tiny homes
• Aircraft
• Antique-title vehicles
• Salvage-title vehicles
• Heavy vehicles (heavy tags 16/20 or higher)
• Oil and gas leases (mineral leasehold interests) #

2026 Home Products Dinner

This hard working crew has been very busy getting ready for the 63rd Annual Home Products Dinner.
I want to thank them and all of the many volunteers who pull together to make Home Products Dinner a success!
The dinner will be on Tuesday, September 15th at 7pm at The Grant County Civic Center, Walker Auditorium. The Buttons are on sale for $15. I hope you plan to join us to celebrate Grant County!
Michael joiner is unequalled in the world of stand-up comedy. He will be our featured entertainment for the evening.

A reminder that all unpaid Real Estate Taxes must be paid by Wednesday, July 29, 2026, to avoid publication in the newspaper.

Taxpayers with delinquent real estate taxes are encouraged to contact the Treasurer’s Office as soon as possible to make payment arrangements or obtain additional information.

This position focuses primarily on data entry, records management, and general office organization, while also helping maintain and improve administrative systems and processes.

We're looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with computers and Excel, and enjoys keeping things running smoothly.

When purchasing a titled vehicle from an individual, be sure the sellers name is on the front of the title as the Owner.
If the sellers name is not on the front of the title, they cannot sell it to you.
