In Oregon, hunting and fishing are treated as privileges. You pay for a license. You follow the season. And the same system that issued that permission can shrink it, price it out of reach, or redefine a lawful practice until it is no longer lawful.
That is not a secure foundation for something families have used to feed themselves for generations.
IP-25, the Oregon Freedom Amendment, would add a new section to Article I of the Oregon Constitution: an individual right to hunt, fish, trap, farm, ranch, raise livestock, and take part in wildlife management. The state could still set reasonable rules for public safety, conservation, and health. It could not treat the right itself as optional.
A privilege asks permission. A constitutional right sets the boundary.
If Oregon means to keep these traditions, they belong in the Constitution, not on a license that can be revoked.
