High Wind Warning has been issued for our region starting tonight at 8 PM . Expect southerly winds near 20 to 35 mph with gust up to 60 mph in the valley locations and 35 to 50 mph with gust up 80 mph along the coast and highest peaks.
Expect North Bay winds to start diminishing around 8 AM, South and East Bay and San Francisco as well as Santa Cruz county diminishing around 10 AM, and Monterey and San Benito diminishing around 4 PM.

Union City Storm Preparedness Tips
• Avoid traveling and any unnecessary trips.
• Avoid driving through a flooded road.
• If you are in danger of flooding, move to higher ground immediately.
• Be ready and tell family, friends, and neighbors to evacuate, if needed.
• Pack a go pack with important documents, medicine, spare clothes, and any other essential items (see below).
• Charge any devices and have battery-operated flashlights handy. Do not use candles, due to the risk of fire.
• Report downed trees, flooding, and other storm-related issues by calling the Police Non-Emergency Dispatch at (510) 471-1365, option #3.
• Report downed power lines to PG&E: https://www.pge.com/en_US/safety/electrical-safety/what-to-do-if-you-see-a-downed-power-line/what-to-do-if-you-see-a-downed-power-line.page and call 9-1-1.
Sandbags
Union City residents or business owners who feel their homes or businesses are at risk of flooding can pick up sandbags at the City’s Corporation Yard, 34650 7th Street, Union City, during regular business hours. Each resident may be issued up to five (5) bags. Verification of residence may be required.
Sandbags are also available at Fire Station 31, 33555 Central Avenue, Union City.
Warming Locations
The Mark Green Sports Center, 31224 Union City Boulevard, Union City, is open for visitors to keep warm during regular business hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
