We don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but with extremely hot temperatures and no significant rain, we ask that everyone stay safe when celebrating the 250th birthday of our great nation.

Sparkle! Shine! If you want to set off fireworks, hose down your launching area thoroughly and look to see where sparks might land and cause a fire.

Our fire departments will thank you!

Our rainstorm this morning wreaked a little havoc with some water that just couldn't clear fast enough.

Tomorrow evening's forecast includes showers and thunderstorms likely before 10pm, then showers likely between 10pm and 1am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Low around 71. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. (Source: National Weather Service--Memphis)

Hydroplaning happens when the tires on your vehicle lose their grip on a road surface and instead travel on a film of water sitting on top of the road. Hydroplaning dramatically reduces a driver's ability to steer and brake. (Source: Bridgestone Tires)

Let's be careful out there!
