On Thursday October 22nd, 2026, members of the Union City PBA Local 8 and Union City Officials tied another ribbon in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

This entire month our members are raising money for an amazing cause which is to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. We’d like for everyone that can’t afford a mammogram to reach out to the mayor’s office as he will do his very best to assist in this matter. Early detection is extremely important. This year we have combined forces with our City and we thank Mayor Brian P. Stack for all of the support he gives our community. Thank you to all the Commisioners for your dedication and hard work that gets put into these amazing events.

All proceeds collected at the end of month will be going towards Breast Cancer Awareness!

Halloween fun!

The Union City Police Department, along with UCPD PBA Local 8, FOP Lodge 16, Hudson County Sheriff's Office, Union City EMS, and North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue, invite you and your family to our annual Trunk or Treat event!

Come dressed in your favorite costume, meet your local first responders, and collect plenty of sweet treats in a safe, fun environment!

Union City PBA Local 8 is Going Pink! 🎀

Throughout the month of October, members of the Union City Police Department will proudly wear pink hats, pink badges and pink undershirts to help raise awareness and show our support for those affected by breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important reminder of the value of early detection, routine screenings, knowing your own health and family history. We encourage our community to speak with their healthcare providers about the screening schedule that is appropriate for them.

We wear pink in honor of the fighters, in support of the survivors, in remembrance of those we have lost, and alongside the families and friends who have supported their loved ones throughout their journey.

We will have merchandise for sale in order to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness please help us with this cause.

Together, we stand in solidarity. Together, we raise awareness. 🎀

When tragedy strikes, communities come together.

The City of Union City, along with Mayor Brian P. Stack the Union City Police Department Union City Police Department, the Union City PBA Local 8 Union City PBA Local 8, and the Union City FOP Lodge 216 Union City FOP 216have partnered with Global Empowerment Mission The Global Empowerment Missionto collect humanitarian aid for families affected by the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

From July 1st through July 14th, we are asking our community to help bring hope to those who need it most by donating requested humanitarian supplies.

We have partnered up with Global Empowerment Mission, Union City Police Department , FOP Lodge 216 , and The City of Union City to collect humanitarian aid for the victims of the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela.

Union City PBA Local 8 was proud to participate in the 43rd Anniversary of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics – Hudson County Area 1.

This inspiring tradition continues to bring communities together across New Jersey, with more than 3,000 law enforcement officers carrying the Flame of Hope through towns and cities statewide to raise awareness and support for the extraordinary athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey.

As the torch made its way through Union City, our officers were honored to once again be joined by the enthusiastic 8th-grade students of Roosevelt, Edison, and Gilmore Union City Schools. This longstanding partnership reflects the values of unity, encouragement, and community spirit that make this event so meaningful. Their energy and dedication helped make the day even more memorable.

We run not only for the cause, but alongside it, standing with the athletes, their families, coaches, and volunteers who make the New Jersey Olympics such a powerful and life-changing movement.

Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, support, and participate. Together, we continue to promote inclusion, celebrate determination, and carry the Flame of Hope forward for future generations.

Members of the Union City PBA Local 8 were honored to attend today’s Scholarship Awards Ceremony, where three scholarships were presented in memory of our fallen members.

These scholarships serve as a lasting tribute to the dedication, service, and sacrifice of those we have lost, while helping to support the educational goals and future success of deserving students. It was a privilege to recognize these outstanding recipients and their achievements.

Union City P.B.A. Local 8 remains committed to preserving the legacy of our fallen brothers and sisters by investing in the next generation and strengthening our community through education and opportunity.
