Sullivan County Health Care residents are the proud recipients of a donation from the Claremont Elks club. Volunteers from the Elks club worked with our staff to determine what the residents would benefit from the most.
Our therapeutic recreation team is excited to begin offering a drumming class! We received exercise balls and laundry baskets for this program. Utilized with drum sticks, the exercise balls are a proven therapeutic way for older adults to enjoy drumming to a variety of music while incorporating movement, exercise, and fun into the activity. We have big plans for this program which can be held on individual floors and incorporated into one large group in our beautiful new space.
The Elks club also donated new clothing. At times, we have admissions that come in from the community that may not have clothing with them and no way to obtain it. This donation will offer a comfortable set of pants and a warm sweatshirt to someone as they transition to SCHC and make their stay more comfortable and a bit happier.
With appreciation to Exalted Ruler, Todd Abbey and the Claremont Elks Grant Committee. We are so grateful for this wonderful donation and the time that the volunteers from the Claremont Elks Club gave to our residents and the SCHC community.
