Zumba returns to the Unity gym this Saturday, October 17th.
ZUMBA with certified Zumba instructor Matt Littlefield
Join Matt Littlefield this Saturday in the Unity Elementary School gym from 9:30-10:30 for a fun workout which you can adjust to your own needs.
All ages welcome. (Minors must be accompanied by an adult.) Drop in fee is $5 or purchase a punch card to save. Please wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes.

A reminder that PICKLEBALL is now offered on Wednesday evenings from 5-7 as well as Saturday mornings from 10:30-1. All levels welcome. No street shoes on the gym floor, please.

Some pictures from today’s Pumpkin Carving Party, organized by Unity Parks and Recreation Committee secretary Eliana Albright with support from other committee members and volunteers. An estimated fifty adults and children created pumpkin masterpieces to take home. Thanks to Johnny’s Selected Seeds for the Polar Bear and small black pumpkins; Field of Greens for the price break in classic orange ones; and Mac’s Hardware for the loan of two beautiful potted mums for our Photo Booth! We’ve just learned that there is no water at the park. Since pumpkin carving is messy, please bring a jug of water for cleanup and/or wet wipes. UPRC will also have some available.

We had three remarkable EMTs from Unity Ambulance give a presentation at today’s Senior Social. They also handed out File of Life forms in magnetic holders which can be filled out and left on your refrigerator in case of an emergency. If you would like one we have a small stack that will be available at the town office after tomorrow morning.

I’m looking for 10-20 one and two gallon nursery style plastic plant pots, the kind that are usually black or green, although color doesn’t matter. These are for a future Parks and Rec fundraiser. Even if you only have a few you can share it will help. Email is the best way to connect.

Join UPRC for pickleball, All levels welcome.
This coming Saturday, October 10th, from 10:30-1pm in the Unity Elementary School gym, and also on Wednesday evening from 5-7.
The first half hour or so is devoted to warmup and drills, with games to follow.
All levels are welcome, and we have players at various levels mixed together with the beginners improving all the time!
Please read the following:
Gym shoes required. (No street shoes or bare or stocking feet, and the custodian requests no black rubber soles which mark the linoleum)). You will be asked to sign a waiver. There is no fee, but donations are welcomed.
First come, first served, and the group can decide how players will rotate in and out. We will have the net, balls, and court markers and will need help with setup and takedown. Please bring your own paddle if you have one, although we have two that can be borrowed if you don't have your own.
You will be asked to sign a waiver the first time you participate which will be valid until temperatures warm up next spring.

This Thursday, October 8th, we'll have light refreshments and socializing followed by a visit from Unity Ambulance. This is the program that was canceled last year when the presenters were called to an actual emergency! Jen and Ashley will be doing the presentation, and they will bring an ambulance so you can have a look inside in case you've never ridden in one.

Meeting is at the Unity Historical Society building from 1-3. All area seniors are welcome!
