Last Thursday, our CDTs participated in a Battalion Competition for lab! It was a great way to raise morale and build camaraderie. Watch til the end to see which company came out on top!

Fall FTX 2026 weekend in the books!

Penn State Army ROTC spent the weekend putting our cadets’ skills to the test. Cadets practiced warrior skills, flipped OPORDs, conducted night land navigation, and ran through STX lanes.

A weekend of getting out in the field, getting after it, and putting training into practice.

The Penn State Nittany Lion Battalion’s Lion’s Guard was back at it again this weekend, conducting one of Penn State’s greatest Homecoming traditions.

The story goes back to the 1970s, when Sue Paterno and a friend covered the Nittany Lion Shrine in orange paint ahead of the Syracuse game hoping a little “enemy” orange would fire up the Nittany Lions.

Penn State won.

And a tradition was born.

Every Homecoming, Penn State Army ROTC stands watch over the Nittany Lion Shrine, guarding it through the night from would-be vandals, rival fans, pranksters, and anyone else considering a little Homecoming mischief.

It’s part ceremony, part history, part Penn State folklore and an opportunity for our cadets to represent the Nittany Lion Battalion while protecting one of the most recognizable symbols on campus.

The Lion’s Guard is always watching…

Please join us in congratulating CDT Marley Seaman, our September Cadet of the Month!

CDT Seaman continuously demonstrates her leadership and dedication both within Penn State Army ROTC and across campus.

Within ROTC she has taken initiative over coordinating our Shadow Day program, orchestrating the largest outreach program for PSU AROTC. She acts as the S9 for Lion’s Guard and is an active member in PSU AROTC’s THON Org., Kaizen.

Outside of ROTC, she is studying criminology. She is also a Human Capital Advisory Group Member and involved in her sorority, Pi Beta Phi.

CDT Seaman’s commitment to service, involvement, and improving our program makes her a great representative of the Penn State Army ROTC Battalion.

This Friday, Penn State Army ROTC Cadets marched in the annual Penn State Homecoming Parade.

Our battalion is honored to have the opportunity to represent the PSU AROTC program during this homecoming tradition. Our Cadet Relations Team (CRT) passed out candy to children and their families along the route! 💙🦁
