We were proud to spend time with residents, local organizations, and families supporting a great cause and an even greater mission, helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through programs that promote independence, inclusion, and opportunity. On behalf of Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and PBSO, the PBSO/PAL Summer Camp is back this summer 2026.

Serving the Glades community since 2014, this program continues to provide local youth with structure, mentorship, and opportunity throughout the summer. Many past students have gone on to college, the military, and careers in public service, including joining PBSO.

This is what mentorship looks like.

Deputy Kenneth “Coach T” Torrence first met Alcivial Henrisme when he was only 7 years old during a visit to his foster home in South Bay. Through years of mentorship, he watched him grow, overcome challenges, and never give up. Along the way, with the support of his mentor, Alcivial was awarded a scholarship through the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Foundation.

Today, Alcivial is a recent college graduate from Valdosta State University, earning his Bachelor of Health Science degree, with his mentor there to watch him walk across the stage. This story highlights the power of mentorship and the impact of a strong support system, from his mother, Ms. Alberta Freeman, to PAL and the PBSO community. It takes a village, and this is what it can look like when it all comes together.

Five years later, detectives are still seeking answers. On July 27, 2021, at approximately 7:50 p.m., a triple shooting occurred in the 100 block of NW 9th Street in Belle Glade. David Ifill and Antonio Dukes were driving together when they were ambushed by occupants of another vehicle. Both men lost their lives. A third adult was transported to the hospital, survived and recovered. We are asking the public for help. Someone knows what happened that night. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered through Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County. If you have any information, please contact:

We’re asking for the public’s help in solving this unsolved homicide. Henry Boyd was shot and killed while inside his vehicle in unincorporated Belle Glade. His family deserves answers, and our community deserves justice. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest. If you have any information, no matter how small, you can remain anonymous.
