Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who answered the call when our nation needed them most.
We also remember the voices behind the calls — the 911 dispatchers who remained calm in the midst of unimaginable chaos, gathered critical information, sent help where it was needed, and stayed connected to people during some of the most frightening moments of their lives.
Today, we honor every dispatcher, first responder, military member, and ordinary citizen who showed extraordinary courage that day.

As the end of summer draws near we want to recognize all of the dispatchers not just in our agency, but all of our partner agencies! Our Operations Supervisor, Lia Greenhalgh-Lloyd used her artistic talents to create a challenge coin with all of the area agencies named on the coin. Additionally, our Deputy Director, Rick Gisolf, designed a challenge coin for our dispatchers in recognition for their dedication, and commitment this summer, and every day.

In a line of work where our folks are typically "behind the scenes," yesterday one of our Emergency Communications Specialists (Brian Campbell) was thanked for the help he provided during a call. This citizen was playing pickleball at a local park when a medical emergency occurred. She (and others) sprang into action and followed the life-saving instructions Campbell provided, which led to a positive outcome for the patient. Following this event, the citizen took the initiative to put up a sign with the address to the pickleball court in case there's ever another emergency, and is now pushing for more permanent signs to be posted!
