Tim grew up as a “preacher’s kid” and was in church from the time he was born. He grew up being taught how he should live and act according to God’s Word, but still did many wrong things. It was at a young age that his parents explained that those wrong things were because he was a sinner and had no means for reaching God. Tim learned that God loved him and had made a way for him to have a relationship with God. He could know for sure that he would go to heaven when he died. That night, Tim accepted God’s free gift of salvation which is offered through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. He was baptized at the age of ten and during college dedicated his life to God for full time ministry. Tim graduated from Maranatha Baptist University with a major in church ministries. This well-rounded major included training for many different types of ministries. While in college, Tim was involved in a public school Bible study and several local churches which gave him a variety of ministry opportunities and experiences. He also interned at First Baptist Church in Harrison, MI as a youth pastor. Since college, Tim has taught in Christian schools for nine years and been involved in the local church in many different capacities. Beth was raised in a Christian home where her parents faithfully served in their church. At the age of five, Beth accepted God’s gift of salvation with the assistance of her mother and was baptized at the age of eight. During her teenage years, an aunt she was close with died from cancer. This was a difficult time for her. God was gracious and through that experience Beth dedicated her life to God for whatever He had for her. God also lead Beth to Maranatha Baptist University where she had valuable Bible training, while she double majored in early childhood and elementary education. She was very active in a local church during her time in college. After college, Beth taught in Chris tian schools for three years before transitioning to her new ministry as a stay at home mommy. Tim and Beth met at Maranatha and were married on June 14, 2003. They now have 2 children, Timmy and Olivia who are great blessings from God. The Tanners have served short-term with Baptist Mid-Missions through Campus Bible Fellowship International at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio as well as serving in the College and Career Class at their home church, First Baptist Church in Elyria Ohio.
