🌊 NEW: The Rhode Island Working Families Party is proud to endorse four bold, affordability-focused candidates for State Senate and State House!
As RI prepares for a generational shift in state leadership, our message to the new Democratic leaders in Providence is clear: working families need fighters, not caution.
Meet the slate 👇
🔹 Nelly Burdette – State Senate, District 17 (Lincoln, North Providence, North Smithfield)
Clinical psychologist & Ukrainian refugee. If elected, she'd be the first woman to represent District 17 in the RI Senate.
🔹 Gena Felix – State Senate, District 8 (Pawtucket)
Pawtucket native, nurse, and daughter of Dominican immigrants — running because no family should have to choose between rent and a doctor's visit.
🔹 Amy Santiago – State House, District 7 (Providence)
Kanien'kehá:ka and Puerto Rican social worker and educator who's spent a decade serving people experiencing homelessness. Running on rent stabilization, single-payer healthcare, and a luxury tax.
🔹 Veronicka Vega – State House, District 49 (Woonsocket)
First-gen college grad who relied on SNAP and Medicaid growing up — now fighting to protect those same programs for the next family that needs them.
These candidates are nurses, psychologists, social workers, and organizers — people who've lived the same struggles their neighbors face every day. As Trump slashes Medicaid, threatens housing assistance, and targets immigrant communities, Rhode Island needs leaders who will show up and fight back.
Working families deserve a Rhode Island where you can afford to stay in the neighborhood you grew up in, where healthcare is a right, and where a full-time job pays enough to live on. That's the fight ahead. 💪
