Today is National Overdose Awareness Day. On August 22nd, Recovery Softball remembered those who have lost their lives to addiction. Thanks to Probation Officer Lindsey Cochran for coordinating this effort.

Marion's Recovery Softball Game highlighted overdose prevention while creating community connections for people in recovery and their families.

🎓✨ Congratulations to our amazing graduates from Marion Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Marion! 🎉

We're so proud to celebrate Special Dockets Clerk Amy Rigney and Probation Officer Kendrick Beard for their hard work, dedication, and passion throughout their leadership journey!

Amy contributed to the Leapin Outreach Center hygiene donation project, while Kendrick co-led the Bicycle Repair Station project. Leapin Outreach Center received a large donation from Marion community while Marion Matters, Inc. is the first recipient of a bicycle repair station with many more projected to be placed around town.

Marion/Crawford ADAMH is on the ballot next month. Please read more about what Marion/Crawford ADAMH provides:

The ADAMH Board provides leadership and funding to addiction services and mental health providers. Our service providers assist individuals and families in need to get the help that they so desperately want. These services include alcohol and drug prevention, mental health counseling, su***de prevention, crisis services, and many other examples. The services ADAMH offers allow our police officers, sheriff’s deputies, state troopers, EMS professionals, firefighters, emergency departments, and schools to do the job they were meant to do. If these services are not available or are reduced, the entire community will feel the effect.

Today Judge Ballinger presented to the Marion Public Library’s Adult Lifelong Learning group. The group completed a tour of the court and probation department, along with observing arraignment hearings and gaining insight to many areas and functions of the court.

Congratulations to Judge Ballinger for being the recipient of the Pam Hall Betterment of Marion Award on March 18, 2026 by Marion Area Chamber of Commerce. This award is presented annually to an individual demonstrating exceptional dedication to improving the Marion community with passion, grit, and dedication. The award honors the legacy of Pam Hall, a longtime Chamber president and passionate advocate who passed away in 2019.

Marion Municipal Court will be closed Monday January 26, 2026. Regular hours will resume Tuesday January 27, 2026. If you have a court hearing or a probation appointment tomorrow, it will be rescheduled.
