Experience and Training is important, especially when it comes to Death Investigations. I have been involved with more Death Investigations than I care to remember and Kerry Rooks, Peach County Coroner has always been a valuable resource and member of our Investigation Team.
Kerry has received some flack because of some wording on a Death Certificate but people don't understand that the words came from an Official Autopsy Report done by a Medical Examiner at the GBI Crime Lab. The Medical Examiner was questioned about his report, he explained his reasoning and refused to change his report.
Deaths are always tough and emotional, especially under suspicious circumstances and that's why it's important to have someone that is well trained and experienced as our Coroner.
