Have you had some "corn" today?

Pro Tip: Mix some salted peanuts with the candy corn. Tastes just like a PayDay bar.

You're welcome!

On October 30th, the country celebrates an iconic treat on National Candy Corn Day. Whether you feel neutral about it, adore it fiercely, or passionately hate it, one thing is for sure: candy corn is one of the most nostalgic treats that sparks surprisingly strong opinions.

Join District 6 Candidates for Door Knocking - Dec. 1

District 6 Candidates and volunteers will gather at Hereth Park, 1534 Powers Ave in Lewiston, on Sunday, November 1 at 3:00pm to do door knocking in adjacent neighborhoods. We’ll be knocking doors of known supporters to make sure they are ready to cast their votes by November 3rd. This is the most fun door knocking of the entire election season. No persuasion, just giving folks information on where to vote.

First time door knocking? No problem! We’ll train you before sending you out. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a charged smartphone. We’ll take care of the rest.

Join us from 3:00 until 6:00pm to help motivate our neighbors to vote! (Then we'll go join the District 7 folks at their "after party" at Hot Shots, 631 Bryden Ave.)

Here's Your Voter Tool Kit for the November 3 Election

Early voting is now underway and runs through tomorrow, Friday, October 30. Cast your ballot from 8:00am – 5:00pm at the County Recorder’s Office, Nez Perce County Courthouse, 1230 Main St, Lewiston.

Absentee ballots can be returned to the County Recorder's Office or the the drop box in the Court House parking lot up until 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 3. (Don't put them in the mail now, they might not be delivered in time and any received after November 3 will not be counted!)

You can register to vote on Election Day at your polling location. You'll need to provide valid photo identification and proof of residence. (Find your polling location here: https://votertools.voteidaho.gov/TEDElectionLink/VoterServices/voter/where-do-I-vote .)

If you are mobility challenged, curbside voting at your polling place is an option. Drive, or be driven, to your polling place and call the County Recorders office (208) 799-3020. They will contact your polling place and arrange for poll workers to bring a ballot out to your car.

Questions about any of the above? Call the Recorder's Office at (208) 799-3020.

This is tonight!

When housing, groceries, childcare, and healthcare stretch the family budget, everyone has a stake in finding solutions. This community forum gives us a chance to share our concerns, learn how Idaho legislators voted on affordability issues, and discuss what should happen next. Showing up helps make sure working families’ needs are heard.

Facts matter.
Idaho law says parental consent is required for ANY medical procedure on a chil (i.e. under 18). Prop 1 does not change this. So no, you 16 year old daughter cannot get an abortion without your consent.

Facts matter.
Terri Pickens recently posted about the many billboards that say "Abortion at nine months is too much for Idaho." Well, it is, we all agree. It's also NOT what Prop 1 says. Section 3(a) says abortion after fetal viability is forbidden.
