🚁 From the classroom to the open water 🌊

U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City crews recently teamed up with students from the Joint Base Langley-Eustis SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) School for training in Chesapeake Bay.

While this intense and critical combat search and rescue exercise helps keep over 100 Air Force students certified, it’s also a massive opportunity for our air station crews to receive invaluable, realistic hoist training with simulated survivors.

Stronger partnerships. Sharper skills. Always ready. ⚓

The Coast Guard and local commercial tow assisted a 68-foot sport fishing vessel taking on water approximately 8 nautical miles north of Absecon Inlet, New Jersey, Oct. 27.

CG Station Atlantic City launched a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew to assist the three people aboard. The crew helped dewater the vessel before escorting it to a nearby marina, where it safely moored.

Coordination between the Coast Guard and maritime partners keeps mariners safe and ensure help is available when emergencies arise on the water.

Leading with Trust. Empowering with Purpose.

U.S. Coast Guard East District leadership took to the skies with the elite crews of U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City for an area familiarization flight across North Carolina and offshore Virginia Beach.

Every flight and every mission reflects how the East District executes excellence by leading with professionalism and character, building trust through consistency, and caring for our team every step of the way.

A good catch starts even before you get underway. Be prepared, check your gear, and save this post for your next trip, so when you get on the water the only thing you need to worry about is who reeled in the biggest fish! 🐟

Strong partnerships make our mission possible! 🛟🚁💪

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Aviation members like Judy Redlawsk and Ron Kripas are important team members when it comes to supporting, training, and ensuring their active duty counterparts are prepared for whatever mission comes their way.

Recently, Redlawsk and Kripas assisted Air Station Atlantic City in Rotary Wing Air Intercept training where the Auxiliary helicopter played the role of an aircraft entering a no fly zone. This allowed the Air Station's MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew to practice different intercept approaches.

Along with training, Auxiliary aviation members often participate in Search and Rescue, Port Over Flights, Waterways and Coastal Security, Marine Safety, and Pollution Response missions.

Through collaboration and a shared commitment, we strengthen our ability to serve and protect!

Readiness takes practice. 🎯

Coast Guard members sharpened their marksmanship skills and maintained weapons qualifications during live-fire training at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

Through regular training with pistols, ri**es and sh****ns, our crews build the proficiency and confidence needed to carry out Coast Guard missions safely and effectively.
