This World Stroke Day, we're sharing a story that reminds us that stroke can happen at any age, even before birth.

At 32 weeks pregnant, Bridgette Lopez went in for what she thought would be a routine ultrasound. Instead, doctors found severe bleeding in her baby's brain and prepared her family for the possibility of a stillbirth.
"I called my husband from the parking lot and was just sobbing. I couldn't even drive," Bridgette recalls.
For four weeks, her family prepared for the unknown. Then baby Levi arrived and immediately began proving everyone wrong.

Doctors later confirmed that Levi had experienced a stroke before birth caused by an ultra-rare genetic condition that affects his blood vessels. The stroke resulted in cerebral palsy impacting the left side of his body, but today Levi is thriving.

• He's learning to crawl.
• He feeds himself.
• He's reaching milestones doctors once feared he might never achieve.

"He wasn't even supposed to be here. They said he might not walk or talk, and he's doing it all."
Levi's story is a powerful reminder that every stroke survivor's journey is unique, and every milestone is worth celebrating. Join us in raising awareness, recognizing survivors and supporting the families whose lives are forever changed by stroke.

Fall is one of the best times to explore Utah's incredible state parks and thanks to lifesaving preparedness, visitors at Goblin Valley and Sand Hollow State Parks can enjoy their adventures with an added layer of safety.

A cardiac emergency response plan can increase survival rates from cardiac arrest by 50% or more, empowering trained responders to act quickly when every second counts.

We're proud to work with Sand Hollow State Park and Goblin Valley State Park to help create safer outdoor spaces and build a Nation of Lifesavers™ across Utah.

💓 Every heartbeat is a gift.

In honor of World Restart a Heart Day, we're celebrating cardiac arrest survivor and softball standout Addison Cox. After returning to the field full-time for the Rigby High School softball season, Addison earned 6A Defensive Player of the Year honors and continues to excel both on and off the field. She's thriving in school, exploring colleges, pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian and continuing her softball career. But Addison's impact goes far beyond athletics.

Passionate about helping others survive cardiac arrest, she works to raise awareness and educate local communities on lifesaving preparedness. She has already helped fund AED installations at two local parks and is closing in on funding a third.

Addison's story is a powerful reminder that knowing CPR and having access to an AED can save lives.
