Know where your safe spot is located during a tornado.🌪

👉 For houses and apartment buildings: Get to the lowest level and don't be near windows.

👉 For mobile homes: Go to a community shelter location, nearby public building, or family and friends who live in sturdy homes.

Topping off the banquet was retirement and recognition awards for Mike Kunes - 35 years, (left on left pic.) and for Ray Knudtson - 45 years on the Melrose Fire Department. Included in picture three was Aaron Byom who retired last year with 30 years on the dept. These three men represent 110 years of experience and commitment that will be difficult to replace!

The Melrose FD took a little time off last night for our annual awards banquet. After 5-year participation awards to Mindy Wagner and Nate Hruza we welcomed and presented badges to two FF who have completed their entry level training and have joined the dept. in the last year, Jadyn Mathison and Brooke Wagner. We also welcomed new member Tyler Dobbs. After the meal and presentations, we played a little indoor golf (sort of)

Whether it's snow, rain, or a sunny day, the steps are the same if your vehicle crashes into a power pole or other utility equipment.

Stay in your vehicle if you can. If you must exit because of fire or another immediate danger, jump clear with both feet together and shuffle away to avoid electrical shock. Warn others to stay back.

We are so excited to roll out a new idea we've been working on that supports a cause that's incredibly important to us and to our community! ❤️

And we are calling it
🔥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: 𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦, 𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧🔥

The Blair Preston Fire Department and First Responders have recently launched an initiative to raise funds for a new fire station—And with your help, we think we can make a REAL difference! 🚒

𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 2026, 50¢ 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬𝘰𝘶𝘵, 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭, 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘰 𝘥𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵!

Every coffee, every pancake, every meal—it all adds up to something bigger!

And WE CANNOT WAIT to start right away!!

Stay tuned for monthly updates, where we will be sharing exactly how much we’ve raised together for the Firehouse Fund!

And last but certainly not least, THANK YOU, in advance for your support of our community, small business, and the men and women of Blair-Preston Fire Department and First Responders who show up for us each and every day!

🔥 Full plates. Full hearts. Full support.🔥

Due to the significant snowfall and blowing snow, please inspect furnace vents outside your residence to ensure they are not obstructed, as blocked vents can lead to a dangerous accumulation of carbon monoxide indoors.
