Our Roads, Our Safety Our Roads, Our Safety raises awareness about sharing the road safely with large trucks and buses.

The FMCSA's primary mission is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries. We work with Federal, State, and local enforcement agencies, the motor carrier industry, labor safety interest groups, and others to ensure safety in motor carrier operations. Another main function of FMCSA is to inform and protect consumers from unscrupulous and predatory actors engaged in interstate ground transit – specifically, when you’re booking a bus or motorcoach trip or planning an interstate move. FMCSA does not endorse any third party or third party content posted on this page unless expressly stated.

🚨 America's Roads Rely on Pros.

It's Crash Responder Safety Week (November 2–6), and FMCSA thanks the responders working to help keep our roads safe.

We all depend on these professionals when emergencies happen. Let's make sure they can depend on us, too!

When you see flashing lights or responders on the roadside:

🚨 Slow Down.
🚨Move OverR when safe and legal.
🚨 Stay Alert.

Protect the Pros Who Protect You.

🎄🚛 Thank you to the City of Moscow, Idaho, for hosting a wonderful U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree event yesterday!

The team and the beautifully decorated truck carrying the People’s Tree made it there safely, thanks to everyone doing their part to share the road safely! With foggy conditions along the way, the journey served as an important reminder that all drivers need to use extra caution when visibility is reduced, stay alert, and always travel at a safe speed for road conditions.

We had a great time connecting with the community, sharing tips for staying safe around large commercial motor vehicles, and reminding road users that safety is a shared responsibility.

🚗 Slow down.
👻 Stay alert.
🍬 Help every trick-or-treater get home safely!

Let’s make this Halloween a treat for everyone sharing the road! 🎃

🎄🚛 Thank you to Idaho Forest Group for hosting a fantastic U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree event in Lewiston, Idaho, this evening!

We loved seeing all the smiling faces as attendees signed the truck banner, took photos with Smokey Bear, and enjoyed the festivities!

Most importantly, we had a great opportunity to raise awareness among people of all ages about the importance of sharing the road safely with large commercial motor vehicles. As the People’s Tree travels thousands of miles to Washington, D.C., it’s a great reminder that we all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe.

📍 Next stop: Moscow, Idaho!

Come see us tomorrow at 10:00 AM to celebrate the People’s Tree and learn more about sharing the road safely!
