Recently Mr. Albert Lyons III, a member of Team Tobyhanna, attended the Aviation Industrial Readiness Program by the Institute for Defense & Business. The program is an executive development course for leaders within the defense industrial enterprise. The course covers some of the following subjects: Leadership, business management and supply chain concepts to help personnel optimize military deports, arsenals and ammunition facilities.

Mr. Lyons states that the program is “A unique opportunity that allows you to learn critical skills and expand your network as a leader. As a result of this class, I was able to study best practices by both private and public sector that I can bring back to Tobyhanna. Further, the relationships I was able to make with my Navy and Air Force teammates are ones that will endure as many of these classmates have or are planning to visit to Tobyhanna.”

Team Tobyhanna is constantly learning and adapting to be ever ready for the warfighter!

On June 24, Tobyhanna Army Depot permanently honored the life, leadership, and incredible legacy of former Deputy Commander Frank W. Zardecki by dedicating a newly renamed roadway in his honor: Zardecki Way.

Frank’s journey was the very definition of public service. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he joined the depot in 1966 as an electronics repairman and steadily rose through the ranks, eventually serving as Deputy Commander for over three decades. For 56 years, Frank had a singular focus: supporting the warfighter and championing the workforce.

We invite you to view the memorialization ceremony and join us in honoring a life well lived.

Bold strokes were made recently by Team Tobyhanna in honor of America’s 250th birthday. Tobyhanna Army Depot Army Community Service (ACS) hosted a Palette & Play event with a patriotic twist. The lunchtime event blended relaxation and celebration, offering a moment to fully cure from the ever-changing, fast-paced environment of supporting the joint warfighter.

ACS’s mission is to provide a strong canvas of support to the warfighter as well as Department of War civilians and their families. In addition to special events, ACS offers educational opportunities, individual counseling services, deployment, or mobilization assistance, and more!
