Harnessing the power of entrepreneurship with delicious, feel-good, taste-good, smack yo' mama it's Darden’s Delights, Inc.

was established to harness the power of entrepreneurship for the benefit of individuals with developmental disabilities. The best part is that we provide mouthwatering homemade pies straight from the heart and into your mouth to make our vision a reality. Our one of a kind delicious pie recipes come from the Darden family of Waycross, Georgia and date back many, many years. Darden’s Delights is named for both the Darden family and our daughter, Darden, who was born with Down syndrome. In everything we do, we believe in challenging conventional thought by building a thriving business to enhance opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. We do this by embracing free enterprise, which we believe is accessible to everyone. With each pie purchase, a “slice” of the proceeds will be used to support organizations that improve the lives and of
individuals with developmental disabilities. It’s a simple idea…more customers, more revenue, better outcomes…one delicious bite at a time.

Today, 3/21, we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, a day chosen because individuals with Down syndrome have 3 copies of the 21st chromosome.

Do you know what a miracle a child with Down syndrome is?

I read this recently, and it is incredible, and seems appropriate to share today:

-Only 20% of eggs with an extra 21st chromosome survive the first cell division

-Of that 20%, only 20% survive to fertilization

-Of that 20%, only 20% actually survive the first cell division following fertilization

Do you know what that means?

This child had a .8% survival rate from the very beginning. And life was sustained!! Read that again, .8% survival rate!🤯

A TRUE EXTRA SPECIAL, ONE OF A KIND MIRACLE!!!

We celebrate Darden, our miracle, for who she is and how she loves life and people. We love you so much, Dards!!💙💛💙💛

Join us in spreading awareness, love, and inclusion today and every day! Share a smile or a hug, and tag someone who makes the world a little brighter⭐️

Today our first born turns 21!
How in the world did this happen so fast?!?

Darden is truly one of a kind. She keeps us on our toes and makes us laugh out loud. Her joy is contagious, her laughter infectious, and she has a way of making everyone around her feel seen and loved. She’s militant about texting and checking in on her people. She’s taught us more about patience and what truly matters than we could have ever imagined.

Darden, what a gift you are to our family and to everyone who knows you.
Happy 21st Birthday, Honey!🎉💃🏼
We love you💗
