Capital District DSA members joined the for their launch! This tenant union is based out of The Knick, owned by the Stratus Property Management. Tenants unionized due to the pest infestations, high rents, and poor conditions.

A tenants' union allows renters to join together in a common struggle for a better right to living conditions. We organize tenant unions to build tenant power because housing is a human right. Every single person deserves safe, stable, and dignified housing.

Our Palestine Liberation Committee is hosting a teach-in on Sept. 19th at Thacher Park (Horseshoe I Pavilion)! The subject matter of the teach-in day will further our understanding of the history of Palestine, how it connects to what we experience today, and how our organizing locally takes steps to liberate us all.

It was a full house for The People's Roundtable, a live, in-person conversation that WAMC’s The Roundtable could be having if they included voices that represented their listeners. The panelists covered topics from Cuba to homelessness in the Capital Region, and provided anti-imperialist viewpoints that would not be shared on The Roundtable, because they would not be invited!

Over the past year, the Truth & Justice For Palestine Coalition (TJ4P) began looking at The Roundtable and found that the show featured US and Israeli military affiliated experts 103 times and that 77% of the panels exclusively featured white guests. Our research also showed comparatively tiny percentages of Black, brown, q***r, Muslim, Palestinian and disabled panelists.
