A clearer picture is coming to Southwest Florida. 🌦️

A new Climavision gap-filling weather radar has officially been installed on top of the Lee County Public Safety Center, becoming the first system of its kind in Florida.

Through an innovative public-private partnership, this radar will help close a long-standing gap in weather coverage by providing higher-resolution data closer to the ground. This additional information will support the US National Weather Service Tampa Bay Florida and emergency management with improved situational awareness during severe weather.

Good things are on the radar! 🌦️

And by radar, we mean the one being installed on top of the Public Safety Center this week.

This new radar will help close a critical gap in weather coverage, providing enhanced data to the National Weather Service and Lee County to improve weather monitoring, forecasting and decision-making. This partnership is another step toward strengthening weather awareness and preparedness across Southwest Florida.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫. 💙

On the evening of July 22, the crews of Medic 22 and Critical Care 2 were called to assist a family in Cape Coral - where they helped welcome a healthy baby boy into the world. Their training, teamwork and compassion helped ensure both mom and baby remained safe throughout the delivery and transport. Pictured is EMT Travato holding the newborn after arrival.

Welcoming a new life into the world is one of the most rewarding moments in EMS, and we're honored to have been part of this family's story.

💙📞 For many people, calling 911 is something they hope they never have to do. When that moment comes, our goal is to make the process as smooth and reassuring as possible.

Thank you to the community members who take the time to share their experiences and recognize the work of our team. Your feedback means a great deal to us.

Helping patients doesn't always end when the ambulance leaves. Sometimes, it's just the beginning. 💙

Since its launch in 2024, Lee County EMS's Community Health Program has continued to grow, helping connect patients with the care, resources, and support beyond the 911 call.

Join Community Paramedic Jodi Werstein as she shares how the program is making a difference and recent milestones the team has achieved.

Dexamethasone is a medication used by Lee County EMS to help reduce inflammation during certain medical emergencies. 💊

By decreasing swelling in the airways and throughout the body, dexamethasone can play an important role in the treatment of severe asthma attacks and allergic reactions.

It's one of many medications our providers carry to deliver advanced care before a patient arrives at the hospital.
