The 301st Fighter wing’s mission is to train and deploy combat-ready Airmen. Personnel assigned to the 301st Fighter Wing repeatedly demonstrate their flying expertise and professionalism in Air Combat Command, Air Force Reserve Command and NATO exercises designed to emphasize that we must train as we fight. Day-to-day activities of the wing are managed by full-time Air Reserve Technicians (ARTs) and Department of the Air Force civilians. Ready reservist assigned to the wing are required to attend unit training assemblies which are scheduled for one weekend each month, plus serve 15 days active duty each year to fulfill their reserve commitment. Reserve pilots are required to maintain the same degree of readiness as their active duty counterparts, and fly throughout the year. CONGRATULATIONS, 301st Fighter Wing!

The 301st Fighter Wing has been selected to receive the Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award for the period of Jan. 1, 2023 – Dec. 31, 2024!

Awarded by the Secretary of the Air Force, this honor recognizes units whose exceptionally meritorious service sets them above and apart from similar units.

During the award period, our Airmen made history as Air Force Reserve Command's first and only unit-equipped F-35 wing, successfully executing First Aircraft Arrival while maintaining a demanding training and deployment schedule in support of combatant commanders worldwide. The wing also earned an EFFECTIVE rating in all major graded areas during the 2024 Unit Effectiveness Inspection.

This achievement belongs to every 301st Airman, along with the families and employers who support them. Thank you for your dedication and service!

A day of service, community and connection. 🇺🇸

Brig. Gen. Kevin Merrill, 10th Air Force commander, swore in new Airmen and Marines during an enlistment ceremony at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, Texas, Sept. 25, 2026.

The 301st Fighter Wing joined fellow Airmen at the fair during opening weekend, connecting with fairgoers, answering questions and showcasing the people and capabilities behind the Air Force Reserve mission.

From those taking their first oath of service to the Airmen representing the 301 FW on the ground, the day was a celebration of service and the communities we serve.
