TEEN SPEAK – FREE PROGRAM
Program to provide parents, caregivers and professionals with the tools they need to engage and communicate with teens.
Workshops are provided by zoom, in-person, or hybrid. 4 hours (done over 4 days, 2 days or 1 day). Refreshments and gift card incentives provided. Available in English and Spanish.
• Overall, Teen Speak is to really help build confidence in adult-child communication to help reduce risky behaviors.
• Teens that report a trusted adult also report safer decision making, so this workshop helps give the tools to become that trusted adult.
• We give all participants, tools in a toolbox, and they're able to morph the strategies we teach with their own communication styles, parenting styles, and situations.
• This workshop is very interactive with a ton of activities built in to expand the understanding of the strategies we teach.
• We can also cater the examples to a particular risky behavior throughout the workshop.
• Parents report an increase in confidence and better relationships with their teen after taking this course.
• The teens also report feeling listened to and valued during conversations as a result of Teen Speak.

The Passaic County Parks & Recreation Department and The Passaic County Health Services Department in collaboration with The American Cancer Society are pleased to invite you to our Stride & Swing event on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Preakness Valley Golf Course in support of the society's mission to fund cancer research, patient services, and advocacy.

Participants are invited to join the Breast Cancer Walk and may also, if interested, register for and join the Golf Outing that follows (Additional Cost Applies).

Breast Cancer Walk – 9:00 AM Start the day with our inspirational Breast Cancer Walk.
A suggested donation of $10 is appreciated. Participants can register online using this link: Breast Cancer Walk - WALK ONLY.

Complimentary Lunch for All Participants – 11:00 AM After the walk, enjoy a free BBQ lunch.
Lunch is provided at no cost for anyone registered for either the Stride & Swing Walk or Golf Outing.
