Owensboro Human Relations Commission Board Meetings: https://owensborohrc.org/board-meetings/ The ordinance was amended by Ordinance No. 10-2001 in 2001.
(1)

It endeavors to strengthen and unify the Owensboro Community by advancing equality, inclusion, and belonging for its diverse citizens, through advocacy, education, empowerment, and accountability. The Owensboro Human Relations Commission (OHRC) was established as a city agency in September 1972 by Ordinance No. 115-72. All citizens of Owensboro-Daviess County are served by the staff of the OHRC. The OHRC is made up of fifteen board members appointed by the Mayor. Members serve staggering term of one, two or three years and may be reappointed to serve additional terms, following their initial term. Most of the funding of the OHRC comes from the City of Owensboro. The organization also receives a great deal of in-kind contributions through many volunteer hours from local citizens and partnerships with groups in Owensboro-Daviess County.
