Earlier this week, I experienced an unexpected medical condition that required an unplanned surgery on Tuesday morning. The procedure went well, and I am now recovering. The length of my hospital stay preludes me from attending Wednesday's City Commission meeting. I expect to make a full recovery and will return to working for all Daytonians later this week.

I regret having to miss this week’s meeting - It is a reminder that we are human, have limits, and live within a perplexing mix of fragility and resilience. I wanted to share this information directly and openly with the residents of Dayton. I believe that public servants have a responsibility to be transparent with the community they serve, especially in moments like these, and I am grateful for the understanding and well wishes of my constituents and colleagues.

Updates will be provided as appropriate. For questions, please contact the City Commission Office.
