🇺🇸 Independence Day Heat Safety Reminder ☀️🚑
As you celebrate this weekend, please remember to take the extreme heat seriously. Spending time outdoors, combined with high temperatures and alcohol, can quickly lead to heat-related illness.
Stay safe by:
💧 Drinking plenty of water.
🌳 Taking breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
👕 Wearing lightweight clothing and sunscreen.
🚗 Never leaving children or pets in a parked vehicle.
❤️ Checking on elderly family members, neighbors, and others who may be at higher risk.
Know the signs of heat illness:
⚠️ Heat exhaustion: Heavy sweating, dizziness, weakness, nausea.
🚨 Heat stroke: Confusion, loss of consciousness, hot skin, or seizures—call 911 immediately.
Yesterday, our area experienced a major incident that placed a significant demand on emergency resources. We ask everyone to celebrate responsibly, make smart choices, and help us prevent avoidable emergencies.
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
