Oklahoma City Democratic Socialists OKC Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, a political and activist organization. This is a local chapter for DSA-USA in Oklahoma City, OK.

Democratic Socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically to meet human needs, not to make profits for a few. We are a political and activist organization, not a party; through campus and community-based chapters DSA members use a variety of tactics, from legislative to direct action, to fight for reforms that empower working people.

On November 14th, our Mutual Aid Working Group will be hosting a free sexual health and preventive care clinic in the OKC metro.

We will be providing:
- STI testing and Treatment
- BV and Yeast Diagnosis and Treatment
- Referrals for No-cost Mammograms
- Birth Control (cost of prescriptions is not included, but low-cost options can be sent to the pharmacy)
- Cervical Cancer Screening
- Pregnancy Testing
- Diabetes Screening
- Cholesterol Screening
- Blood Pressure Screening

In these overwhelming times, it is more important than ever to cultivate a mindfulness practice. Learning how to create space between stimuli and response is an excellent way reject despair and prevent burnout. At our mindfulness gatherings, we discuss the philosophy and benefits of meditation and support each other in focusing our attention and awareness inward.

Join us at the Belle Isle Library on Sunday, October 25th, at 2:00pm. Masks are encouraged and cushions are recommended. There is also a virtual attendance option for folks who cannot come in person.

This 12-part series of articles on ideas for how to organize for socialism in the 21st century first appeared in Links International Journal of Socialist Renewal in 2009. Harnecker was a Chilean journalist, author, psychologist, sociologist, activist, and Marxist intellectual. She has written extensively on the Cuba Revolution and on the nature of socialist democracy.

Soy Cuba (I Am Cuba) is an 1964 political drama anthology film covering 4 unique short stories from right before the Cuban Revolution. A collaboration between Cuban and Soviet film studios, the film follows the lives of various workers, students, and farmers as their struggles throughout the island reveal the blood and grief the capitalist system thrives upon.

Cuba is still under seige under sanctions instilled upon by the America Government. Call and email your representatives, let them know you support the Cubans right to self determination.
