(PT. 1.) Meet “Linda Marie”, addressed by both First and Middle name for differentiation between her now-retired co-worker and trainer, Linda. Linda Marie works in the packing and inspection department, but she lived quite a life before finding her way to Arzberger in 2022.

Born in Gastonia, NC, her father was from Italy and her mom, a North Carolina native. She was one of five children — three brothers and one sister. Except for her late brother, she and her siblings all still live in North Carolina today.

Linda Marie fell in love young to a pilot named Bryan. She met him on a flight to Italy in her late teenage years. At the end of the flight, Bryan asked if they could meet again. Linda Marie said no, only to be coincidentally set up with Bryan by their mutual friend and fellow-pilot, Bobby. They dated for three years before getting married in Gatlinburg, TN surrounded by both of their family and friends. Linda Marie’s screensaver on her phone is still a photo of the church they got married in, over 40 years ago. They have two daughters, Bailee and Wendy, and adopted their niece, Maria, and nephew Billy, after her oldest brother and his wife tragically died in a car accident in 1985.

Linda Marie was a nurse for years until her husband was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2007. At the time of diagnosis, he was given 6-12 months to live. He went through two exhausting rounds of chemotherapy, deciding at the end of the last round it would be the last. A friend of Linda Marie’s was a homeopathic medicine doctor at the time. They sought her advice for alternative treatments to help his quality of life, never expecting much more than that.

Capitalization on wedding invitations is simpler than it seems: treat the copy like a sentence. Capitalize the first word and any proper nouns.

When it comes to the year line, styles vary. Some capitalize the first letter, others do not. Look at old etiquette books and you’ll often find the year often omitted altogether. We have done it all over here!

Traditionally, “and afterwards at the reception” continues the sentence. Some prefer “Reception to follow” or “Dinner and dancing to follow”, both of which can stand alone. In this case, leave a bit of space before the line and capitalize the first word and any proper nouns.
