PARK-ing DAY Chicago PARK(ing) Day is an annual, worldwide event where artists, activists, and citizens turn parking spots into temporary public spaces for people to enjoy.

Jefferson Park Forward organizes the annual event in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago. PARK(ing) Day is an annual, worldwide event where artists, activists, and citizens independently (but simultaneously) turn metered parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public parks and other spaces for people to enjoy. PARK(ing) Day is a non-commercial project, intended to promote creativity, civic engagement, critical thinking, unscripted social interactions, generosity and play. Join us in Jefferson Park (Lawrence and Milwaukee) where we'll spend the day in front of the CTA terminal, in parking spaces that have become public spaces! We welcome your creativity and hope you will lend your time and energy to this project.
