Free Breast and Cervical Screenings
Every Woman’s Life (EWL) is a public health program that helps uninsured, low income women gain access to free breast and cervical cancer screening services. Screening and early detection reduces death rates, improves treatment options, and greatly increases survival.

To be eligible, women must be a Virginia resident between the ages of 18-64, meet federal income guidelines and be uninsured. Women 18-39 must be symptomatic or be determined to be high risk for breast and/or cervical cancer to be eligible. Services provided by the program include a clinical breast exam, mammogram, pelvic exam, Pap test, and any diagnostics needed to reach a final diagnosis. If a woman enrolled in EWL is diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer she may be eligible for Medicaid to pay for treatment.
Contact your local EWL provider to determine eligibility and enroll.

Every year, thousands of women are diagnosed with uterine or endometrial cancer — often after symptoms were dismissed, minimized, or ignored.

Heavy bleeding. Bleeding after menopause. Pelvic pain. Changes that don’t feel normal.

Too many women are told these symptoms are “just stress,” “just hormones,” or “just part of getting older.”

They’re not always.

June is Uterine Cancer Awareness Month, and this month, the Foundation for Women’s Cancer is encouraging everyone to start the conversation.

Because awareness matters. Listening to your body matters. Checking on the people you love matters.

This month, we’ll be sharing:

Real stories from survivors and caregivers
Symptom awareness resources
Expert perspectives
Ways to start meaningful conversations through our campaign
One question. One conversation. One appointment could make all the difference.

Know the signs. Trust your body. Start the conversation.
