Red light cameras temporarily suspended!

NOPD is conducting an internal review of Officer overtime as it relates to red-light camera citations amidst concerns between overtime records and citation-review activity.

NOPD has determined that assumptions of any widespread abuse of overtime are likely premature. However, NOPD recognizes the concerns. We’re following the facts, examining our procedures and strengthening oversight. "Accountability remains our priority," says Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick.
Recent media reports have raised questions about whether officers working red-light camera overtime properly accounted for their time. NOPD is conducting a comprehensive internal review of overtime records, assigned duties, work activity, supervision and potential violations.

We’ve temporarily suspended the red light camera overtime.
