We appreciate the American Institute of Architects-Illinois for highlighting Feeding Our Kids during their recent annual conference here in our community! They hosted a food drive and collected donations to support our mission of providing weekend food to children throughout Champaign County.

We are hiring!

Feeding Our Kids is looking for a part-time Nutrition Coordinator to join our team! We’re seeking someone who is organized, motivated, available primarily Mondays and Tuesdays, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children.

The Nutrition Coordinator will play an important role in making this happen through menu planning, food ordering, inventory management, and working alongside our staff and volunteers during food packing and distribution.

Expected start: January 2027

We appreciate CU Sunrise Rotary and Champaign Central's Interact Club spending their time volunteering with Feeding Our Kids. Rotarians of all ages are making a difference and helping make sure kids have food on the weekends.

We are pleased to share that Feeding Our Kids has added two new programs this semester!

We’re now providing food bags to children at Rantoul Head Start. A special thank-you to Heather for picking up and delivering the bins.

We have also expanded our ongoing partnership with the Champaign-Ford Regional Office of Education #9 to provide food bags to students in their SOAR program at GCMS in Gibson City.

Each new program means more children have access to food over the weekend. We’re incredibly grateful to our volunteers and donors whose time, generosity, and continued support make this possible.

We appreciate the businesses and organizations that support our program. Recently, team members at Human Kinetics joined us to pack allergy-friendly food bags and inventory food items to keep our program running smoothly.

Human Kinetics also supports students at Stratton Elementary School through our Adopt-a-School program!

Each semester, we collaborate with student groups for hands-on service-learning projects.

This semester, we’re excited to welcome two students from the School of Social Work and five students from the Gies College of Business Freshman Honors Program. We appreciate their willingness to get involved, learn more about our community, and help make sure local children have the food they need.

Today is Hunger Action Day, and our volunteers are the heart of Feeding Our Kids.

From packing bags to delivering food to schools, they make our program happen every week.

Yesterday, 80 volunteers of all ages came together to pack bags of food for children across Champaign County. This week, 35 drivers are delivering bins to schools and community programs, making sure the food gets where it needs to go.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and commitment our volunteers give to Feeding Our Kids. Thank you for being a part of what we do!

The Campus Charitable Fund Drive kicks off today!

CCFD helps strengthen the work of local organizations, including Feeding Our Kids, while creating opportunities for people to make a difference in our community.

We’re excited to share that Feeding Our Kids is one of 44 local organizations nominated for a 2027 Round Up for Good Grant through Common Ground Food Co-op!

Common Ground owners have until September 24 to vote for 10 organizations to receive Round Up at the Register support in 2027.

Our volunteers are back at it! They’re helping make sure nourishing food gets into the hands of kids across Champaign County schools.

We are so grateful for the dedication of our volunteers who pack the food bags, deliver them to schools, and help make our program possible. And a special thank-you to the school social workers and liaisons who distribute the bags to students each week. It truly takes a community working together!
