The undefeated Skyhawks are the number one ranked team in the state and have captured the Section III title four straight years.

Nineteen youth and six adults were honored today for their positive impact in the community at the 7th Annual Oneida County Youth & Adult Award recognition ceremony.
Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. and Youth Bureau Director Kevin Green presented the awards to the recipients at a breakfast ceremony at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro.
“The exceptional qualities possessed by these honorees are something that all members of our community should strive to emulate,” Picente said. “This annual awards ceremony demonstrates that the future of Oneida County is in good hands with outstanding youth who are being guided by equally outstanding adults.”

Congratulations to the top-seeded New Hartford softball team for capturing the Section III Class A title with a 12-11, walk-off win over two seed Chittenango.
And congratulations also goes out to the New Hartford girls track and field team for winning the Section III B-1 championship.

Congratulations to the New Hartford and Notre Dame baseball teams on winning their respective Section III championships.
New Hartford took the Class A crown with a 12-0 win over Cortland and Notre Dame claimed the Class B title beating Bishop Ludden-Grimes 8-3.
There is a special Oneida County connection to these teams as well, as District Attorney Todd Carville is the head coach of Notre Dame and Youth Bureau Director Kevin Green is the head coach of New Hartford. Great jobs guys!

County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. today announced the Oneida County Industrial Development Agency has approved a new Uniform Tax Exemption and Agency Benefits Policy aimed at expanding housing development opportunities throughout Oneida County.
“This is another major step forward in our effort to tackle the housing shortage that is impacting communities across Oneida County,” Picente said. “This policy expands the housing projects that can qualify for incentives through the IDA and creates new opportunities for developers to build the workforce, senior and owner-occupied housing our communities desperately need. It builds on our existing mixed-use housing policy and demonstrates our commitment to creating more housing options throughout the county.”

Congratulations to the Whitesboro Boys track & field team for winning the Section III Class B-1 championship in Central Square last night.
It was back-to-back Section III championships for Whitesboro. They took the Class A-2 title last year.
