🚜🌽 HARVEST SEASON IS HERE! SLOW DOWN & STAY ALERT! 🌽🚜

As harvest season gets underway, the Utica Fire Protection District reminds everyone to use extra caution when traveling on rural roads throughout our community.

Farmers are working hard to bring in this year's crops, which means more tractors, combines, and other large equipment on our roadways.

-A FEW SAFETY REMINDERS:
-Slow Down! Farm equipment travels much slower than regular traffic. Be prepared to reduce your speed.
-Watch Those Intersections! Tall cornfields can obstruct your view of approaching vehicles. Slow down and look carefully before proceeding.
-Pass with Caution! Never pass farm equipment on hills, curves, or where visibility is limited. Give operators plenty of room.
-Stay Alert! Large equipment may make wide turns or enter and exit fields unexpectedly.
-Avoid Distractions! Keep your eyes on the road and your phone put away.

-A few extra minutes of patience could prevent a serious accident.

Let's work together to keep our farmers, motorists, and families safe this harvest season!
