Today, on Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day, the Priority Ambulance family of companies joins communities across the country in raising awareness for those living with metastatic breast cancer and honoring the patients, families and loved ones impacted by this disease. 🎗️

Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we recognize the importance of education, early detection, continued research and compassionate support. Today, we especially stand with those whose breast cancer journey continues, as well as the families, caregivers and healthcare professionals who walk alongside them.

Together, we remember those we have lost, support those living with metastatic breast cancer and help bring greater awareness to the need for continued progress.

Kunkel Ambulance, a member of the Priority Ambulance family of companies, was proud to participate in a local BOCES Career Day hosted by The Arc of Oneida-Lewis Counties!

This exciting event brought together students from area schools to explore a variety of career paths through hands-on experiences, interactive demonstrations, and conversations with local professionals.

Our very own EMT Bob Day was on hand to represent Kunkel Ambulance, showcase emergency medical equipment, answer questions, and give students a firsthand look at the exciting world of EMS! 🚑

With an anticipated 500–600 students attending, this was a wonderful opportunity to introduce young minds to the rewarding careers available in emergency medical services and the important role first responders play in our communities.

A special thank you to The Arc of Oneida-Lewis Counties for organizing this event and to Bob for representing our team and sharing his knowledge with the next generation of potential EMS professionals! 💙

Priority Ambulance is pleased to welcome Shavonda Epps to the Priority Ambulance Family of Companies as Regional Human Resources Manager for the Great Lakes Region. In this role, Epps will work alongside regional and operational leaders to support employees, strengthen HR practices, and advance people-focused initiatives throughout the Great Lakes Region.

Epps brings more than a decade of professional experience, including progressive leadership in human resources, employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, employee engagement and organizational development. Most recently, she served as Director of Human Resources and Senior Human Resources Business Partner for Riparian Management LLC, where she partnered with senior leadership to support organizational growth, strengthen employee engagement and develop HR programs and processes across multiple markets.

For 20 years, Raena has been a valued member of the Kunkel Ambulance team. As our Squad One dispatcher, her calm voice and professional approach help keep our crews informed, prepared and safe while they’re out serving the community.

Raena also plays an important role in welcoming the next generation of Kunkel dispatchers. As our primary dispatch trainer, she works closely with new team members throughout their training and helps ensure they are prepared for success before being fully cleared.

Her experience, dedication and commitment to looking out for our crews make Raena an incredibly valuable part of the Kunkel family. We are proud to recognize her for all she does!

Today is World Heart Day! ❤️

Across Priority Ambulance and our family of companies, our EMS professionals see firsthand how important heart health is and how quickly recognizing the signs of a cardiac emergency can make a difference.

Today is a great reminder to take care of your heart. Stay active, make heart-healthy choices, keep up with regular checkups, and know the warning signs of a heart attack or cardiac arrest.

It’s also a reminder to learn CPR. You never know when you may be the person who can step in and help save a life before first responders arrive.

Here’s to healthier hearts, stronger communities, and taking care of ourselves and one another. ❤️🚑

September is Baby Safety Month! 👶💙

For parents and caregivers, keeping little ones safe is always a priority. This month, Priority Ambulance and our family of companies are sharing a few simple reminders that can help create a safer environment for the smallest members of our communities:

🛏️ Practice safe sleep: Always place babies on their backs to sleep on a firm, flat surface, and keep pillows, blankets, toys and other soft items out of the sleep space.

🚗 Use the right car seat: Make sure your child’s car seat is appropriate for their age and size, installed correctly and used on every trip.

🏠 Baby-proof your home: Secure furniture that could tip, cover electrical outlets, use safety gates near stairs and keep cords and small objects out of reach.

🛁 Stay within arm’s reach around water: Never leave a baby unattended in a bathtub or around any amount of water, even for a moment.

🌡️ Prevent burns: Keep hot drinks, cookware and other hot items away from the edges of counters and tables, and check bath water before placing your baby in it.

⚠️ Keep potential hazards locked away: Store medications, cleaning products and other potentially dangerous items securely and out of reach.

A few simple precautions can make a big difference. Take a moment this Baby Safety Month to look around your home, review your routines and make safety a priority every day. 💙
