What better day to highlight our Period Pantry?!

World Menstrual Hygiene Day is observed annually on May 28. The global campaign drives action to end period stigma, combat period poverty, and ensure safe access to menstrual products and education for the 1.8 billion people who menstruate around the world.

Locally, our Period Pantry is a free, 24-hour community resource providing menstrual products to anyone in need. Located in the parking lot at 310 Rutger Street in Utica (Seymour Ave entrance), it's accessible to all! We need your help to keep this vital resource filled, as it addresses period poverty, a barrier that impacts access to essential menstrual products.

Donations of menstrual hygiene products are greatly appreciated, and monetary gifts or gift cards are also welcome.

Join our friends at USA Dance Mohawk Valley Chapter #3066 for their May Fiesta Dance tomorrow night and support us while you’re there through their Shop Our Closet event.

Shop gently used and new formal and semi-formal clothing, shoes, and jewelry. Proceeds benefit our programs and services. Thank you to 1993 Salute Academy Member (and avid dancer!) Kathy Contino-Turner for making this unique and impactful connection for us.

Next - Herkimer County - what an energizing day you created for local non-profits!

Our Director of Development Kari Procopio and Director of Mission Impact Michelle McCarrick represented YWCA MV at the 3rd annual Non Profit Symposium, which overflowed with informative and relevant sessions addressing some shared challenges AND many innovative opportunities for organizations throughout our region.

Thank you to the organizers and presenters, as well as the staff at Herkimer County Community College.

A graphic design feature for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month!

In the spring and summer of 1988, Gloria Chun Hoo was a key player in the YWCA USA new logo design. It was the era of YWCA celebrating new beginnings with the implementation of the sunrise logo that ran from 1989 to 2004. It was a defining moment that created persimmon as our signature color.
