🖤 ❤️ 💚Our Arnold Ave. Day Program proudly hosted an inclusive and meaningful Juneteenth celebration, bringing people together to honor freedom, reflect on history, and celebrate culture, unity, and community.

On June 19, 1936, the Hall of Negro Life opened at the Texas Centennial Exposition in Dallas. Inside hung Aaron Douglas's powerful piece, Into Bo***ge, one of four murals tracing the journey of African Americans from the transatlantic slave trade toward freedom.

This Juneteenth, we showcase a recreation of Into Bo***ge by artists in our Fine Arc at The Arc, Oneida-Lewis program, in tribute to Douglas, as we celebrate Juneteenth and commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.

We honor the strength, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans and reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive future.
