About 80 businesses across Oneida and Lewis counties employ people with disabilities through partnerships with The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, which recognized several employers on Wednesday for helping workers find meaningful employment and become more independent.

Yesterday, we held our annual Employer Recognition Breakfast to honor businesses that work with The Arc to employ people with disabilities. The event was part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Rome Health was named Oneida County Employer of the Year. Tyler Murray, a Food and Nutrition Aide, will be on hand to receive this honor.

Patrick LaCreta, an employee at The Arc’s own Progress Industries business enterprise, received a 2026 NYSID, Purchasing That Powers Employment Outstanding Performer Award.

Assemblyman Assemblyman Brian Miller and Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon attended and presented awards and proclamations. Assemblywoman Buttenschon also received a tribute of appreciation for her support of the event and her tremendous service representing our communities throughout her career in the New York State Assembly Majority.

🍬 Gorgeous fall weather set the perfect backdrop for our Trunk or Treat event in Kirkland. Several Arc day programs turned out, and some even made the trek from Lewis County to have a scary good time.
