The City of Vacaville Fire Department has been awarded a $60,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to strengthen regional crash response and vehicle extrication capabilities.

The funding will support a fully equipped, battery-powered extrication system, specialized training for department personnel, and community education on seat belt use, distracted driving, and other traffic safety topics.

These resources will help firefighters respond more efficiently when individuals are trapped in vehicles following serious collisions—supporting lifesaving care when every minute matters.

Funding for the program was provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Explore the fire safety house and decorate a pumpkin.

Station 72 - 2001 Ulatis Dr.
Vehicle extrication at 10:00 a.m., Sparky from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m., blood pressure checks from noon–1:00 p.m., and breast cancer T-shirts for sale.

Station 73 - 650 Eubanks Ct.
Forced entry demo at 11:00 a.m. and a Vacaville PD K9 demo at 11:30 a.m.

Station 74 - 1850 Alamo Dr.
Watch an ongoing ladder demo, grab a free hot dog starting at noon, and take a photo with an antique fire engine.

Station 75 - 111 Cogburn Cir.
Meet animals from the SPCA, try the junior firefighter obstacle course, and visit with Vacaville Dispatch.

Station 76 - 200 Conservancy Trl.
The sensory-friendly hour is 9:00–10:00 a.m. Sparky will also be there during that hour, and engine tours will be available.

Live Fire Training | Academy 26-01

Today, Academy 26-01, alongside cadre from the Vacaville, Fairfield, Vallejo, Dixon, and Suisun City Fire Departments, participated in live-fire training evolutions.
These exercises focused on critical Engine Company operations, search, and fire attack skills that must be performed with precision when seconds matter.
Every opportunity to put our firefighters through live-fire evolutions is an opportunity to build experience, confidence, and teamwork in a controlled training environment. This preparation is essential for the moments when lives and property are truly at risk.

Vacaville Fire Department personnel had an amazing time celebrating National Night Out alongside our neighbors, community partners, and fellow first responders.

The Vacaville Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association to support Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower” focuses on simple steps you and your family can take to recharge safely. Many devices used in our daily lives -phone, tablets, laptops, toys, e-bikes, and scooters – run on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which store a lot of energy in a small space. If they are damaged or charged the wrong way, they an overheat , start a fire, or even explode.

And don't forget to visit us at the Fire Station Open House on Saturday, October 10, from 9:00am-1:00pm!

Visit Fire Station 76 during our Open House on October 10 from 9:00–10:00 a.m. for our Sensory Friendly Hour. Take a picture with Sparky, meet our firefighters, and see a firefighter dressed in full gear.

This hour is designed to be less overwhelming, with reduced sound, lighting, and crowds so everyone can explore and enjoy the firehouse at their own pace.
