Town of Vail parking passes are now on sale. 2026–27 parking passes include this winter season as well as summer 2027 parking benefits.

While rates and pass offerings are the same as last winter season, paid parking will begin Nov. 20, a week after Vail Mountain opens Nov. 13. Typically, paid parking coincides with Vail Mountain’s opening day. There will also be a slight reduction in peak days, with the Mondays of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day weekends classified as non-peak. The Lionshead and Vail Village parking structures will continue the popular program that offers free parking for vehicles entering after 3 p.m. until 4 a.m.

Check out pass offerings at vail.gov/parkingpasses.

Did you know we put out a weekly update on construction projects around the Town of Vail?

These photos and details are from this week’s update featuring Southface Vail, the 268-unit locals-only apartments being built along North Frontage Road.

Last week saw exciting progress as framing began on the easternmost building. Below the framing, concrete deck work carries on across the second and third floors, with cable tensioning underway on the most recent third-floor section. At the west end, crews are preparing the ground for the next section of floor slab. On the hillside to the north, anchoring work is moving through the last stretch of the building’s retaining wall and the bottom tier of the hillside wall. The protective spray coating is following close behind on the building wall. Inside the parking garage, the building’s generator is being set into place. Crews are also running plumbing and electrical lines beneath the floor slab at the east end of the building.

You may have noticed the roundabout banners celebrating Town of Vail's 60th that we've had up this year. As we went through our libraries to choose a photo to represent each decade, we found we had a big gap in photos from the 90s. Mayor Barry Davis recommended reaching out to local pro photo legend Jeff Potto and we're so glad we did. This iconic shot of Jim Smith doing a handplant in the halfpipe from 1996 couldn't be a better representation of the decade. Thanks so much for allowing us to use this image, Potto, it makes us smile every time we see it.

Wildlife resistant containers are compliant only if they are closed and latched properly, and some styles do work better than others. Also don’t forget! Vail Town Code requires that you label your can and only put containers on the curb from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on a scheduled trash collection day.

We love to see it - more snow in the forecast through tomorrow!

This summer we enhanced bus routes and frequency of our outlying routes, and WOW did you show up to ride the bus!

Representing the largest change in the town’s transit routes and frequency in over 30 years, this summer’s improvements included route adjustments to the Lions Ridge Loop, West Vail Red and West Vail Green service as well as increases in frequencies to all outlying routes between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. The enhanced schedule was funded in part by a Colorado Clean Transit Enterprise grant and is a part of a wider effort to encourage multi-modal transit alternatives to single occupancy vehicles in the Town of Vail.

The winter transit schedule will maintain the same enhancements, as well as increase frequency in East Vail to 10-minute from 20-minute service and bring back the seasonal increased Ford Park service during the morning and afternoon peak periods.
