Together, We Are More!

On October 9, we celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a wonderful program highlighting the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic community!

This year's theme, "Together, We Are More,"came to life as our talented Wildcats showcased Hispanic heritage through art, music, dance, and sports!

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Arnold and our amazing elective teachers for working together to create such a fun and meaningful celebration! Our students did a fantastic job!

Our differences make us unique, but together, we are MORE!

🎥 Missed the celebration or want to watch it again? Check out the video below and enjoy all the wonderful performances!

Learning Today. Growing in Confidence. Preparing for Tomorrow!

The Valdosta City Schools 21st Century Community Learning Centers After School Program provides students with opportunities to strengthen their academic skills through additional support in English/Language Arts and Mathematics while also discovering new interests through engaging enrichment activities.

At J.L. Lomax Elementary School, students participate in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) enrichment with Ms. Cornelius. Recently, students participated in the “I AM” Activity, an opportunity to reflect on the qualities and characteristics that make each of them unique.

Through the “I AM” lesson, students explored their:

Positive qualities
Strengths
Feelings and emotions
Interests
Personal characteristics
Unique identities

Activities like these encourage students to develop self-awareness, self-esteem, confidence, and a greater appreciation for who they are.

At 21st CCLC, we believe that academic success is only one part of student growth. We are committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally—because every student has strengths, talents, and qualities that make them who they are!
