From their first day in the classroom to getting hands-on experience with our equipment, our Citizens Fire Academy participants have come a long way!

Throughout the program, participants stepped into our world, learning about fire safety, emergency response, rescue operations, and the training it takes to serve our community. Along the way, they gained new skills and developed a deeper appreciation for the work our firefighters do every day.

We recently celebrated their graduation, recognizing the dedication, enthusiasm, and growth each participant demonstrated throughout the academy. Congratulations to our graduates!

A special thank you to our local KFC and Bojangles for generously helping provide meals for our participants. Community partnerships like these make programs like Citizens Fire Academy even more meaningful, and we appreciate your support!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this academy a success. We hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we enjoyed having you!

Students at Scintilla Charter Academy got an up-close look at our fire engine and firefighting gear while learning important fire safety tips from our firefighters!

Students had the opportunity to learn more about what our firefighters do, ask questions, and become familiar with the equipment we use to keep our community safe.

Beyond the excitement of seeing a fire engine up close, visits like these help build trust and teach children that firefighters are friendly faces they can count on in an emergency.

Thank you, Scintilla Charter Academy, for spending the afternoon with us!

Participants in our Citizens Fire Academy recently stepped into action for one of their most hands-on sessions yet!

Suited up in firefighting gear, participants experienced the physical demands of the job as they practiced handling fire hoses, worked together as a team, and faced live flames in a controlled training environment.

This session offered a firsthand look at the skill, coordination, and dedication required of our firefighters each day.

We're proud of our participants for taking on these challenges and grateful to our VFD personnel for sharing their expertise and providing this valuable experience!
