We area officially
CLOSED FOR THE SEASON

THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by here on the old Oregon Trail to reminisce with us on our Country’s historic 250th birthday year.

It’s amazing how folks are still meeting up on the trail all these years later. Families researching genealogy brings many visitors here researching their Oregon Trail heritage.

Please like and share this page with your friends and feel free to repost photos and any special items of interest.

Contact information is posted on the profile page. Donations are always welcome and tax deductible. Volunteers will be needed as we plan for our next season. Thank you to this year’s docents: Gary, Joe and Betty who also keeps up the page.

See you again soon 🤠

We just acquired a donation of 5 totes containing scrapbooks consisting of several decades of local newspaper clippings sourced from a variety of mostly “Malheur Country” area publications. Many social happenings from past decades with some historical Oregon happenings included.

The donation was provided by Rhonda Dixon who had inherited her mother’s collection. The late Mrs. Lavon Carrier gathered the vast collection during her years as the local Willowcreek area columnist for the weekly Malheur Enterprise newspaper.

Several years, from the late 50s into the late 70s and possibly early 80s were saved into several volumes of annual scrap booklets of “Items of Interest”.

Newspapers are now about obsolete and this collection is a wonderful source of information. We appreciate the donation.

Note from Rhonda: Mom’s name is spelled Lavon. My grandma's name was Esther Potter and she started the scrapbooks and news collecting at Willow Creek and then mom took over when our grandparents moved in closer to town.
